A sunset in Haleiwa!

We went to dinner at our favorite Thai restaurant the day before my birthday with some of our friends...and when we arrived in Haleiwa (surfer town of the North Shore), the sun was setting and it was beautiful. Here are some of the pics Chris took. Enjoy!

25 B-Day!

On March 11th, 25 years ago, my parents were blessed to welcome into the world a wonderful and amazing blessing from above: Me! Lol...
Yes, I turned 25... A quarter of a century indeed!! And what a quarter of a century!!?! It has been filled with love, passion, adventure and trials from which I have grown and learned to appreciate life. I am really grateful to be where I am at in my life right now.
I had a beautiful day with Chris. He made me breakfast early in the morning (my first class starts at 7:30 am), after our classes and work, we headed to Waikiki where we watched the sunset and ate strawberry cheesecake!
We had to go back to Laie early because we are in the Tahitian club and had a rehearsal that night we couldn't miss...At the end, everyone sang Happy Birthday in French and English..and they made me dance!!By myself with the boys...Ok fun I shall say but, I am not good at Tahitian dances so I just busted a couple moves and ran in hiding behind my tahitian friends!!! Chris even busted a couple of moves..I was quite impressed!!!
I had a wonderful day!

Basketball Fever!

So here at BYU-Hawaii, we really like our basketball team! It helps that they seem to always win (in fact this season they are undefeated!), and that they are so much fun. Some highlights are when the team gets 100 points, there is free ice cream after the game, and this year at each half-time (boy's and girl's) there is a drawing to shoot a free throw and then a half-court shot. If someone makes them both, they can win 100 dollars/game. If someone doesn't make it, then the amount increases by 100 for the next home game! Last night we signed up again, as we always do, but unfortunately someone else won the 600 bucks! It's a nice free date that we all enjoy, especially since Jen gets to scream her head off!

But instead of being able to shoot for money, I was drawn to go play a game of dodge ball against the women’s volleyball team for prizes!

I won an ambassador package (really nice, good food, tour package, night show, the works!) at the Polynesian Cultural Center, so that will be really fun!

Change in management...

So everyone... it's Chris, and if you haven't noticed so far, I have been 'eh'hem' less than contributional when it comes to this blog, however, Jen has relinquished the management to me, so we'll see if I can step up to the plate. Needless to say if there are glitches and faults, feel free to let me know, and if there's anything you'd like to see more of, put a shout out as well. Hope you all enjoy it!!

Sorry the pictures didn't want to get on my other post for some reason...The site isn't working well today!!! Here is the nasty beast....

A few things you will find in Hawaii....

The other day while driving on the North Shore on our way to Costco, we saw something a bit quite different than the usual turtles we see lying on the beach...it was a Hawaiian monk seal! She was huge!! We stopped and took a few pictures. There was a turtle also, you can see it on the picture!!
I took a video as well because the turtle was walking about and I had never seen them walk on the sand before, always saw them either sleeping or swimming!!!

On the other hand, the huge centipede is what we found this morning when we got up. Here you see it dead, after a good slicing from Chris!!!

Here, in paradise, we can find wonderful things, don't you think?

The video doesn't want to be posted so I'll try later on...
